feel the day turning on

movin' toward the sand

long board in my hand

blowin' winds touch our skin

sea salt air we breathe in

life guard said by the way

the beach is closed today

yesterday's actions

created these reactions

while we're all sleeping

pollution is streaming

shore lines are receding

mother nature screaming

aftershocks are coming

politics are numbing

rising up waters black

dolphin cries on their backs

my heart breaks with fears

vision blurred with tears

ocean breaks down inside

fallin' back lost my pride

who takes this right away

the beach is closed today

yesterday's actions

created these reactions

while we're all sleeping

pollution is streaming

glaciers started melting

hurricanes are pounding

aftershocks are coming

politics are numbing

we the people share these rights

when will you stand up, stand up and fight?

danger signs on the gate

dumpin’ waste changed our fate

long boards stand on dry land

           can’t go back on the sand
